Our Executive Committee - Session 2018-2019
21st Cabinet - Carbon
Introduction of the Cabinet Carbon - our rationale and pledge
Carbon is a chemical element with the symbol C and atomic number 6. It has 6 protons in its nucleus which are held together by the strong force. This represents that six of the proposed Committee members will work together as a strong team. The fact that it has four valence electrons symbolizes that the Committee will strive to strengthen bonds with the Department and Members in order to create a harmonious relationship.
Carbon atoms can bond together in different ways to form various kinds of allotropes. This illustrates our determination in handling affairs with flexibility and viewing issues from multiple perspectives in the following year. We also aim to act like diamond, which is one of the strongest substances in the world, so that an extensive covalent bond network, or a Members’ network in context, can be built.
Lastly, carbon is one of the most important elements in our daily life. This signifies that the Society will endeavour to play an important role in our Members’ University life.
